Senator Paul Mark and Representative Nick Boldyga to present check to It Takes A Village in Huntington

WHAT: State Sen. Paul Mark, D-Becket, and state Rep. Nick Boldyga, R- Southwick, will present a $25,000 check to It Takes A Village in Huntington.

WHEN: Tuesday, January 30, 2024, 10 a.m.

WHERE: 2 E Main St., Huntington, MA 01050

WHY: It Takes A Village was founded in 2009 by Cummington resident Maureen Shea. The nonprofit emerged from a “profound recognition of the pressing need” for additional support to families in rural communities during the postpartum period. What initially began as a sincere effort of one mother to support another has since grown into a large support system into four counties.

It Takes A Village provides three pillars of support through groups and events, a Home Visit Program and The Village Closet.

The Village Closet provides free maternity, baby, and children’s clothing, diapers, and other supplies for newborn babies to those in need. The Huntington donation center serves thousands of Western Mass. families every year.
